[2023/04/14 15:39] Sonja Bikergrrl: you may recall you're at the centre of an about-to-be riot. What're you going to do?
[2023/04/14 15:39] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben deployed an oil slick, Leesha mentioned a secret weapon?
[2023/04/14 15:40] Sonja Bikergrrl: you did, you did, Cailen?
[2023/04/14 15:41] Ingelin: Calien take shelter behind some ship luggages and think what to do
[2023/04/14 15:41] Sonja Bikergrrl: Probably a good plan!
[2023/04/14 15:41] Sonja Bikergrrl: Leesha?
[2023/04/14 15:41] Alicia Frakture: Leesha is gonna look at the guy who said he was going to shut her mouth and sigh." You're right I shouldn't have been a smart ass. I was frustrated and tired and you didn't deserve it. I apologize. How about a couple drinks on me to make up for it."
[2023/04/14 15:44] Sonja Bikergrrl: okay... so Ingelin takes cover, Debben is beside a growing slick of oil and the crowd mumbles and mutters but hangs back, -just- in case this is some elaborate magick. The sailors look at each other and mumble. "Arr. Maybe we overreacted, what with being out of work and all. Tell ye what, why don't we have a jar of ale and calm down, aye?" The gathering crowd mumbles and mutters, having come to see a fight, but, looks like no entertainment for them today!

[2023/04/14 15:45] Ingelin: Calien observes the sailors from afar and try to discover their weak sides, whether to attack them physically or use cunning
[2023/04/14 15:45] Ingelin: (( who is INGELIN?))
[2023/04/14 15:46] Sonja Bikergrrl: Grumbling, the crowd disperses, knowing that where drunken sailors are, riots usually follow, so they just got to be patient. The two fighters stash their knives and one pats Leesha on the back. "Arr, the Jolly Mermaid be the best bar. Good ale, aye?"
[2023/04/14 15:47] Sonja Bikergrrl: (Bah, Ingelin, Cailen :P you know who you are)
[2023/04/14 15:47] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "I could also use some ale after that fright you gave me," debben comments, eyeing oil slick she's created and confirming if it's slowly flowing towards a decent drainage
[2023/04/14 15:47] Alicia Frakture: /me leesha smiles."Sounds good to me.. lead the way." before looking at Calien and Debben.'You two coming?"
[2023/04/14 15:47] Sonja Bikergrrl: Hopefully no one comes walking in the area... "luckily" the docks are fairly empty, what with the haunted ship and all.
[2023/04/14 15:48] Alicia Frakture: *Yay my secret weapon worked :)*
[2023/04/14 15:49] Ingelin: Calien junps out and licks her lips imagine that fresh ale
[2023/04/14 15:51] Sonja Bikergrrl: The sailors amble into the Jolly Mermaid. It's fairly quiet inside, the sort of quiet of rapt attention... someone is telling as story! "...and there were demons -everywhere-, but I stood resolute with the half orc and the dwarf, and it was a terrific battle, swords clattered and there was blood EVERYWHERE! Then the leader charged at me, screaming bloodthirsty cries, and I side stepped and nearly hacked his head right off!"
[2023/04/14 15:52] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben finds this strange and attempts to stay unremarkable, keeping the hood of her cloak up.
[2023/04/14 15:53] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks to the sailors. "Grab a table I'll get the first round."
[2023/04/14 15:53] Ingelin: Calien rise s her attention to the storyteller, hearing that plot, the same plot of zillion of stories heard in every tavern of the realm
[2023/04/14 15:55] Sonja Bikergrrl: There's gasps from the sailors as they listen to this. "Bloody 'ell," one says, "And what happened then?" The woman who is propping herself up on the bar, takes a big drink of ale from her tankard. "With the leader of the demons dead, I searched the body for the treasure while the remaining demons fled - there were hundreds running away! - and... get this... they hunted for apple pies..." There's a round of laughter as she takes another swig of ale
[2023/04/14 15:57] Alicia Frakture: Leesha gets the ales and brings them to the table as she looks at the stage. Is it who she thinks it is?
[2023/04/14 15:57] Sonja Bikergrrl: Debben, Cailen?
[2023/04/14 15:58] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben frowns slightly, but doesn't call attention to herself, sipping at her ale if it's arrived. Something in this whole situation just isn't adding up.
[2023/04/14 15:58] Ingelin: Calien notices Leesha reaction and waits to know something more from here, not that the story got a more specific and personal path
[2023/04/14 15:59] Ingelin: now*
[2023/04/14 16:01] Sonja Bikergrrl: The audience laughs uproariously. "Apple pies!" and the woman, who is wearing an eyepatch and robes with a few faded blood stains showing, nods, and takes another mouthful of ale. "Apple pies, yes... well, it's amazing what wizards want. There was one time, I had to find a radish... actually maybe I'll tell that story next time. If you're good, of course, boys!"
[2023/04/14 16:01] Sonja Bikergrrl: The two sailors who sit with you look at the ale Leesha brought over. "Arr, ye be not so bad for landlubbers!"
[2023/04/14 16:02] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "We do what we can," Debben offers quietly, side-eying whoever the women is that's making such a noise, checking if it's that cleric they worked with for a bit.
[2023/04/14 16:03] Ingelin: Calienhides her face under her jug only her eyes are still out in observation
[2023/04/14 16:03] Sonja Bikergrrl: The sailors start quaffing. "Arr, so ye be a-fixing to deal with the ghost, aye?"
[2023/04/14 16:04] Alicia Frakture: Leesha smiles at the two sailors. "Thanks, I'll get the next round too." her eyes narrow at the "cleric" Before nodding."If we can, but honestly do you know anything about the ghost we might be able to use?
[2023/04/14 16:05] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Arr, well, lessee... we won't set foot on her, no way. Boards break underfoot, t'ain't natural, aye?" "And the laughter and screams, it's unnerving... no way no man can stand that, three months at sea."
[2023/04/14 16:06] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Never actually dealt with a ghost before. Not exactly my specialty.... but the traditional dwarven answer is to inscribe the ghosts name on a heavy stone tablet to calm them. Does anyone know who's ghost it is?"
[2023/04/14 16:07] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Nay, nay idea. The ship was being built, then there was ghostly figures, aye?" "And then the shipwrights got injured, there always be injuries, aye, but this were unnatural!"
[2023/04/14 16:09] Alicia Frakture: Leesha smirks and looks over to the stage."Gosh if we only had a cleric they might be able to help."
[2023/04/14 16:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Arr, that be the problem, clerics can't seem to drive the ghost away!"
[2023/04/14 16:10] Ingelin: maybe i could try something, not sure of the resaults
[2023/04/14 16:10] Sonja Bikergrrl: Meanwhile, the woman with the eye patch has sat down with a few sailors, with tankards of ale, and you can see cards being dealt.
[2023/04/14 16:11] Sonja Bikergrrl: "The harbour master be eager for someone ta do somethin'!"
[2023/04/14 16:12] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Is there a bounty out for the ghost by now?"
[2023/04/14 16:12] Ingelin: nevertheless...
[2023/04/14 16:13] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Ye'd get the gratitude of the town council, aye." They look at Cailen. "Humbly beggin' yer pardon, missy, but what can ye do?"
[2023/04/14 16:13] Ingelin: sing a song? play the right melody?
[2023/04/14 16:14] Sonja Bikergrrl: The sailors look into their tankards and take big swigs, before shrugging. "Can't hurt, aye?" "Aye, they say music soothes the savage beast."
[2023/04/14 16:15] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben sips at her ale some more, racking her memory for various varieties of ghost lore, or monsters that might credibly pretend to be a ghost.
[2023/04/14 16:15] Ingelin: oh yes, and if i find the ghost resonance waves, it will be trapped by sound ebergy
[2023/04/14 16:16] Ingelin: energy*
[2023/04/14 16:16] Sonja Bikergrrl: The sailors nod in drunken agreement. "Aye... that sound about right!" "It's never been tried."
[2023/04/14 16:16] Alicia Frakture: Leesha smiles and goes for the next round and upon return sets the tankards down on the table before looking at debben and Cailen. "If you ever meet my Granny grumph don't tell her about me apologizing, she'll have my hide."
[2023/04/14 16:16] Ingelin: ((i don't know if i am maybe more drunk then the sailors!))
[2023/04/14 16:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: (Luckily it's only light ales during daylight hours!)
[2023/04/14 16:18] Ingelin: Calien embrace her mandolin and start to pluck the strings one at a time while observing the ghost
[2023/04/14 16:19] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: ( Wasn't the ghost over on the ship? )
[2023/04/14 16:19] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: (( For that matter, how far away is this haunted ship? )0
[2023/04/14 16:20] Ingelin: (yes sorry))
[2023/04/14 16:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: Various sailors in the pub look round at the twanging, hopeful of a shanty or other to be played. The woman playing cards with the sailors glances round, then splutters and sprays her mouthful of ale over the cards. She quickly jumps up and sidles over. "You two! What are you doing here?"
[2023/04/14 16:21] Sonja Bikergrrl: (Outside, in the harbour, few hundred feet. You can see the sails billowing, despite no wind.)
[2023/04/14 16:24] Ingelin: ((am i supposed to say or do something? sorry i am not getting the situation right, in that case))
[2023/04/14 16:25] Sonja Bikergrrl: (If you want to go to the ship and try the music, you can. Or talk to the woman who was telling her story. Or... you might have another idea? Leesha, Debben, anything?)
[2023/04/14 16:25] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "We got paid by the wizard and came out to have a celebratory ale," she answers, adding a shrug to the explanation. "Now apparently there's a haunted ship."
[2023/04/14 16:26] Alicia Frakture: *If I am correct you are on stage performing for the crowd once performance is done we can go investigate.*
[2023/04/14 16:26] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Ah! Yes... the haunted ship. A bad business, the sailors are very upset over not working. There was even nearly a riot just before you arrived!"
[2023/04/14 16:27] Sonja Bikergrrl: Megan - for it is she - frowns and looks at Cailen. "So... who's this...?"
[2023/04/14 16:27] Ingelin: Calien stands up, glares at the two girls then says: i want to try the power of the sounds, i need to approach the shp to do that, want to come with me and see?
[2023/04/14 16:28] Alicia Frakture: /me Leesha nods and gets one more round before looking at the sailors." We all good guys?"
[2023/04/14 16:28] Sonja Bikergrrl: Megan nods. "A woman of action. Feisty, a real tigress! Well, let's see what she can do!"
[2023/04/14 16:29] Sonja Bikergrrl: The sailors are slurping ale and spilling much on themselves. There's a round of "Aye"s and thumbs shown.
[2023/04/14 16:29] Alicia Frakture: Leesha smiles and begins to head for the door
[2023/04/14 16:29] Sonja Bikergrrl: (Lead on Cailen!)
[2023/04/14 16:30] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben, being from a culture long steeped in ale, drains her own tankard without spilling anything and stands up to follow.
[2023/04/14 16:30] Ingelin: we should walk toward the haunted ship, maybe weìll need to attract the ghost near me to have a better effect
[2023/04/14 16:31] Alicia Frakture: *So we have Megan leesha, Debben and Cailen?*
[2023/04/14 16:32] Sonja Bikergrrl: You walk out to the ship, and yes, that's right. A few sailors follow, in the hopes of some great clash between the forces of Good (Cailen) and Evil (the ghost), or, some music at least. The ships' sails billow as if there is a literal gale blowing; you can hear ropes creaking loudly.
[2023/04/14 16:33] Ingelin: Anyone want to be bait? if only we would know something more about the entity...who it was, why it is on that ship
[2023/04/14 16:33] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben inspects the structure of the ship. Does it have identifying markings like a name plate, flags, or a prow statue?
[2023/04/14 16:34] Alicia Frakture: Leesha nods."I got it... all out of pie anyway. How do you need me as bait?"
[2023/04/14 16:34] Sonja Bikergrrl: The sailors shuffle their feet, not about to volunteer. The ship looks brand new, with a female figurehead as is usual; painted across the rear: "FARSEA"
[2023/04/14 16:35] Sonja Bikergrrl: Other than that, standard looking merchant man, raised decks fore and aft, two masts.... usual nautical items you'd expect
[2023/04/14 16:36] Ingelin: Calien trembles like a leaf, muttering something like: but because I never learn to shut up and mind my own business!
[2023/04/14 16:36] Ingelin: (why even)
[2023/04/14 16:37] Sonja Bikergrrl: The sails suddenly flop, as if the "wind" stopped. Ropes stop creaking, there is silence.
[2023/04/14 16:37] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks at Calien. "Tell ya what, let's get ya close. You play the music and we see what happens."
[2023/04/14 16:37] Sonja Bikergrrl: Megan: "I think you got their attention."
[2023/04/14 16:38] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben double checks their pockets for their casting tools, not yet winding anything up but ensuring they're ready.
[2023/04/14 16:39] Ingelin: ok, let's do it...she look for a corner in the area to have her shoulders protected and use the walls to amplify the sound effect, then slowly plays some notes
[2023/04/14 16:40] Sonja Bikergrrl: There's silence from the ship. Megan, and the handful of sailors watch with interest
[2023/04/14 16:41] Ingelin: Calien tries different pitches of the notes, searching that good vibrations
[2023/04/14 16:42] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben watches. Is this ship in wet dock or drydock?
[2023/04/14 16:42] Sonja Bikergrrl: While you play, the ship is silent. Some of the sailors nod enthusiastically and nudge each other.
[2023/04/14 16:42] Sonja Bikergrrl: It's in the water.
[2023/04/14 16:43] Alicia Frakture: Leesha just watches in case some nasty tries to make a move and is not a ghost
[2023/04/14 16:43] Sonja Bikergrrl: Nothing happens, as far as you can tell...
[2023/04/14 16:44] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Huh. So if the ghost stays quiet while music is going.... how do you play overnight?"
[2023/04/14 16:46] Ingelin: ((i waas about to emote that something was happening, have i to do it likewise or move over?
[2023/04/14 16:47] Sonja Bikergrrl: (You've played your music; the ship is silent. As far as you can tell, nothing has happened)
[2023/04/14 16:47] Alicia Frakture: /me thinks about it."Maybe we need to go aboard the ship."
[2023/04/14 16:48] Sonja Bikergrrl: Megan agrees. "Yes, you should go aboard the ship."
[2023/04/14 16:49] Ingelin: maybe...then we go, do we?
[2023/04/14 16:49] Alicia Frakture: Leesha shrugs and heads for the ramp to the ship. keeping an eye out for the captain. So there is no issue
[2023/04/14 16:49] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben takes up position right behind Leesha, glad the half orc is taking point.
[2023/04/14 16:50] Sonja Bikergrrl: There's no sign of the captain, seems the order is Leesha, Debben, Cailen and Megan?
[2023/04/14 16:51] Alicia Frakture: /me nods
[2023/04/14 16:53] Sonja Bikergrrl: You walk up the gangplank... onto the deck of the ship. It's still very quiet; you can see hatches to the cargo deck, doors to the crews and officers' quarters, barrels, coils of rope...
[2023/04/14 16:54] Alicia Frakture: Leesha begins looking around."Maybe play as we go see what happens."
[2023/04/14 16:54] Sonja Bikergrrl: What's everyone doing?
[2023/04/14 16:55] Ingelin: nothing happened before, i think we should spot it then try something
[2023/04/14 16:55] Sonja Bikergrrl: Debben?
[2023/04/14 16:56] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Following, looking around for clues as to what this ghost actually is, particularly eyeing the floor and items that have been left around

[2023/04/14 16:58] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "vs death, DC 15" you say?
[2023/04/14 16:59] Sonja Bikergrrl: Lucky roll, the dice gods smile on you today! The nearest coil of rope suddenly lunges at Debben like a striking snake, but misses! It draws back and hovers in the air above it's coil, like a snake ready to strike again.
[2023/04/14 16:59] Sonja Bikergrrl: And that seems like a good cliffhanger to call it on ;)
[2023/04/14 16:59] Alicia Frakture: *Does Leesha see this?*
[2023/04/14 17:00] Sonja Bikergrrl: you're all on deck, it's hard to miss
[2023/04/14 17:02] Alicia Frakture: Leesha lunges to grab at the rope and if successful she tries to toss it overboard
[2023/04/14 17:02] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: (( Is Cailien still playing? ))
[2023/04/14 17:03] Sonja Bikergrrl: of course? But I did say we'd stop there, as a good cliffhanger point

[2023/04/14 17:06] Sonja Bikergrrl: An 8... oops... Leesha tries to grab the rope but the rope grabs her and flings her off the ship! There's a loud -splash-... hope you can swim :P
